Hailey's birth marked one of our area's most damaging hail storms. Her determination, hardiness and spirit drove inspiration for her unforgettable title, "Oh Hail No!" This controversial name and the story behind it were put to a committee of 30 registrars at AQHA headquarters in Texas to obtain approval in the registry. We are happy to say the results were unanimous. All 30 LOVED the name!

 

Hailey is a homozygous black, sooty buckskin. Her bloodlines are fresh and hard-to-find. Jessie James was long considered "one of the greatest cutting horses to look through a bridle." He won Reserve World Champion NCHA Open, Superior Performance Open Cutting Horse Champion, NCHA money-earner, ROM Performance Open Champion and even earned points in Halter. AQHA Hall of Famer, Harlan, is crossed three times in Hailey's pedigree. In 1965-66, Harlan won the AQHA leading get-of-sire award. Over 35 years later, he was the all-time leading sire of AQHA Champions in 1999.

Other Foundation greats include AQHA Champion, Ben Mark, Poco Bueno, King and Rey Del Rancho. Rey Del Rancho was steeply line-bred Old Sorrel, King Ranch's Founding Sire. Hailey is sired by our senior stallion, Jaz Poco Zorro, 100% NFQHA.*  Zorro's pedigree is highly regarded some of the best of Poco Bueno, King, Beaver Creek and the great NFQHA producer, Little Steel Dust. Most importantly, Zorro is out of arguably the greatest Foundation broodmare of all time, Bains Showdown Dun.
